HOW IT WORKS
Drilling Threadmaster - or DTM for short - is more than a solid thread mill. It’s basically a one-stop-shop that drills, chamfers and mills a threaded hole in one operation.
MINIMISE TOOL CHANGES
DTM is available for applications in cast iron and aluminium, keeping the chips short in both materials. It also covers a range from M4 up to M16. UNC/UNF and Witworth profiles. As well as being more efficient, you will be able to reduce your costs as you’ll be saving 2 or 3 tool changes when using DTM.
THREAD MILLING IN GENERAL
Compared to threading with a tap, you will find that thread milling gives you a better finish without burrs. The same threadmill cutter can not only be used for all dimensions as long as the pitch is the same but can also be used independent of which tolerance is required. This reduces the cost and downtime and gives you better quality and a safer production. Because the tool is lighter now as well, it will save your machine spindle and tool changer.
The advanced design means you can use the same cutter for both left and right handed threading, immediately reducing the number of tools needed. You can use the same tool for different materials and tolerances as well as using the same cutter for a wide range of diameters - reducing your inventory cost.
The Threadmaster family has now expanded and covers the full range between M4 x 0.7 up to M20 x 2.5, as well as cutters for UN/C , W and NPT/F threads.
In addition, we have a range of Threadmaster cutters between M4 and M16, for materials with tensile strength over 900N/mm2. These have been named -900.
As if that’s not enough, we are also introducing a wider range of Threadmaster–H. These products are designed for hardened materials up to 60 HRc.
