The first choice for superalloys

Improve parting-off and grooving applications

A proven and successful PVD grade for challenging materials, CP200 is now available for parting-off and grooving with MDT. A first choice for superalloys and high-strength steels, the new inserts can also be productively applied to cast iron with low hardness and to martensitic stainless steels. Featuring an optimised micrograin and sharp, periphery- ground cutting edge (RP), these inserts excel in high-speed machining and are highly resistant to plastic deformation.

CP200 offers top performance in nickel-chromium alloys including Inconel, Hastelloy, Nimonic, Udimet, Waspaloy and Monel, as well as titanium alloys, including Ti6Al4V and Ti5Al2.5Sn. CP200 pairs well with Jetstream Tooling® to further enhance chip control, productivity, surface finish and overall component quality.

Product range

The CP200 range includes three chipbreaker options: FT for fine turning and deep grooving, MP for medium turning, profiling and grooving with good accessibility and RP for fine and medium turning, profiling and grooving. The grade is offered in single and double-ended inserts. CP200 is available in metric cutting edge widths from 3 to 10 mm and imperial widths from 0.125 to 0.25 .
