The EPB 5600, when compared with a DIN-type Shrinkfit holder, achieves higher clamping forces, increased rigidity and the same 3 μm runout at 3xD. In fact, the EPB 5600’s clamping force, on average, is 33 percent stronger than an equivalent DIN holder. Combining this clamping force with the Safe-Lock system enables the EPB 5600 to eliminate tool ejection and achieve high material removal rates through increased depths of cut and higher table feeds.
The Safe-Lock system features drive pins in the Shrinkfit tool holder bores. The pins, when combined with spiral-shaped grooves in the cylindrical cutting tool shank, prevent the tool from being pulled out from the chuck during extreme machining conditions.
To achieve the best possible performance in the machining of titanium alloys, Seco
recommends pairing the EPB 5600 with its Jabro® HPM JHP770 solid carbide end mill with optimised edge protection. All standard Jabro products are now available on demand with the Safe-Lock shank option.
