MANUFACTURING EXCELLENCE & SUSTAINABLE MANUFACTURING MASTERCLASS
Join us for masterclasses designed for manufacturing decicions makers.Seco's Masterclass series is aimed at providing advanced training to those in manufacturing aiming to resolve bottleneck issues as they pertain to sustainability, manufacturing excellence, and more in an effort to increase overall efficiency, productivity, quality, and profitability.
This year we are offering two masterclasses back-to-back with the Sustainable Manufacturing class from April 20-April 21 and Manufacturing Excellence class from April 23- April 24.
Sustainable Manufacturing
The Sustainable Manufacturing masterclass gives a comprehensive overview of the various ways to analyze and describe a machining process. Along with multiple practical models and guidelines outlined, a link is made between machining technology, production economics, and environmental impact. This class will support you in creating practical models to work towards a productive and cost-effective metal cutting process that creates a minimum load on the environment.
Presentation Topics Include
Process Kinematics of a Metal Cutting Process
General Description of a Cutting Tool
Machinability Models for Different Workpiece Materials
Chip Formation Models
Models for Cutting Forces
Thermal Analysis of a Cutting Operation
Tool Deterioration and Tool Life
Quality of the Machined Surface
Best Practices for Practical Cutting Process Optimization
Economic aspects of Cutting Processes

Manufacturing Excellence
The Manufacturing Excellence masterclass aims to prepare you for the global shift from high volume, low mix (HVLM) to high mix, low volume (HMLV) and prepare for the not only common causes of downtime but also be prepared for hidden reasons as well. Get an overview of best practices for wholistic process development and uncover and ultimately reduce the obstacles that interfere with maintaining a template for manufacturing excellence.
Presentation Topics Include
Facilitating Organizational Leadership
Evaluation of Current Processes
Capabilities to Lead Manufacturing Excellence Transformation
Improving Processes & Practices
Developing a Culture of Manufacturing Excellence
Moving Beyond Small Improvements to Evolving into ME
Best Practices for Practical Cutting Process Optimization
Economic Aspects of Cutting Processes

The aim of both of these classes is to demonstrate cost efficiency, productivity, and continuous improvement of trends, technology, and innovations.
Each class is $1,500, which includes the cost of the seminar, meals, and local transportation. Classes run from 8:30 am - 5 pm. Registration is open until April 13, 2020.
