The Seco standards for Inserts Drills
For solid insert drill bodies, there is no full ISO designation system as for turning toolholders. Seco developed a unique system that is built using the same principles as the ISO system for turning toolholders.
The system is designed so that each important feature and dimension of the insert drill body is shown using a code system. This becomes the name of the insert drill body.
This system has several advantages:
- Unique naming of the insert drill body
- All important features and dimensions are clearly stated in the name
- Some code positions relate to the insert that can be used in the insert drill body
It's important to remember that this designation system is not a system that standardizes the quality of the insert drill body.
