Seco Tools cutter system offers highest feed rates with new insert program
ERKRATH, Germany, September 2018 – Seco Tools has extended its insert program for the company’s versatile cutter systems with the new LP09 insert. This larger, more compact insert reaches higher levels of productivity and process stability for high-feed milling operations in challenging materials.
The new LP09 positive inserts allow very high feeds for face milling, plunge milling, pocketing, grooving, square shoulder milling and helical interpolation. Reinforced corner radii and the additional choice of closer-pitched cutter bodies enable these inserts to offer the benefits of cost-efficient operations and high metal removal rates.
Versatility in challenging operations
The new inserts machine adhesive and challenging materials easily, making the LP09 inserts an excellent choice in demanding industries such as aerospace, mould and die, and oil and gas.
High machine performance
Improved chip flute design and an internal coolant supply result in secure chip removal capabilities that ensure high process stability for the new HF2-LP09 inserts. These design features eliminate machine down time and the resulting productivity losses for optimal machine performance.
High process stability
The compact design of the LP09 insert allows a closer pitch for the cutter body. This allows for higher feed rates and leads to longer tool life. The dimension and the stability of the insert LP09 ensure secure insert fitting for maximal process stability.
The LP09 inserts work with the Seco High Feed 2™ system, which has cutters available for three insert geometries with diameters from 25 to 100 mm and a maximal cutting depth of 1.8 mm. Furthermore, 42, 52 and 66 mm diameters are available for mould and die uses or for other long-overhang operations. The LP09 inserts are available in a wide choice of grades and geometries, while the Seco High Feed 2 is available with Combimaster™ heads as well as arbor-style bodies.
