Extended Steadyline range from Seco Tools reaches for deeper holes
ERKRATH, Germany, September, 2018 – Seco Tools has supplemented the extensive range of the Steadyline vibration damping holder system with new boring bars featuring lengths up to 10 x D for deep holes.
The vibration-damping characteristics of Steadyline ensure the highest process stability for very deep holes, as they minimize vibrations without the need for reduced cutting parameters. Together with an extended turning bar range, the holder system excels in difficult turning and boring applications where conventional systems reach their limits.
Versatility for turning applications
Using BA holders, an extra-long Steadyline boring bar with 100 mm diameter and usage length of 10 x D can be combined with proven GL50 cutting heads from Seco Tools. An optional Jetstream Tooling coolant supply further assists in providing excellent surface finishes and highly efficient chip and heat removal.
Precise boring applications
Cutting heads with machine-side BA060 and BA080 interfaces accommodate rough and fine boring applications, making it possible to create precise holes with diameters of 65 to 115 mm.
Biggest drilling depths and maximal accuracy
With the GL25 workpiece side connection, boring bars with 25 mm diameters and lengths of 6 x D, 8 x D and 10 x D are available with a carbide-reinforced design for even deeper holes. The GL25 cutting heads are ideal for turning applications as well as for recessing and back boring. The cutting heads are easy to change quickly with the patented Seco Tools GL connection, which guarantees tool security. These tools provide precise centring and repeatability of ± 5 µm. The versatile Steadyline range for turning and boring applications is completed by different geometries and excellent inserts, including DN..11, CC..09, DC..07, DC..11, TC..11 and VB..11.
