Seco Tools Improves Chip Removal for Turning Applications
ERKRATH, Germany, September, 2018 – Seco Tools has extended its product range of high-pressure coolant supplies for its patented Jetstream Tooling® technology. The new tool holders provide excellent chip control and efficient heat removal for ISO turning. The coolant solution ensures excellent surface finish and optimal machine performance, eliminating down time for maximal productivity.
The new Jetstream Tooling® tool holders for turning applications direct a concentrated coolant jet into the cutting zone. The optimally broken chip is lifted from the rake face and streamed out of the cutting zone with high pressure, a form of secure chip removal that averts down time while reducing heat load. At the same time, Jetstream Tooling® promotes more in-cut time and longer tool life.
Easy handling
Change inserts quickly and easily by removing only one screw. New coolant clamps with integrated coolant supply channels are optimized especially for turning applications. Seco JETI technology guides coolant from the machine directly to the tool holder and through the clamp. This is beneficial especially in narrow production environments. External coolant hoses can be applied if necessary.
Extensive range
Thanks to a new range of machine-side adapters, Jetstream improves productivity for lathes with turrets and VDI connection. Adapters are available in left and right-hand versions for turret sizes VDI 30, 40 and 50, with face-mounted holders included for sizes 30 and 40. For square shanks in sizes 2020 and 2525, coolant supply goes directly from the adapter to the holder without the need for hoses.
