Inauguration of RO Plant & Toilets at ZP Kendra Primary School under Seco Swacch Koregaon Bhima Abhiyan Project (Clean & Healthy Koregaon Bhima Project by Seco)
At Seco, we believe that to be a sustainable business, we must act with economic, environmental and social responsibility. Developing and nurturing good relations with the local communities in which we live, and work are also crucial for Seco’s long-term success.
With this objective, Seco India Team has been engaging with the local community at its Pune Site. One of the issues that the local community faced was the infrastructure issues at the Primary School where 500+ children from the community attend. The children did not have access to safe drinking water. Also because of the lack of drainage system, sanitation facilities where nonexistent.
Seco Team worked with the local government and built a Reverse Osmosis Plant to purify drinking water. The plant has a capacity of 500 Liters per hour and will provide safe drinking water to around 500 students in the school. A drainage system was implemented, toilets where renovated, and plumbing system was installed. Through these initiatives, we are ensuring that children have access to safe drinking water, and hygienic sanitation facilities. Hygienic sanitation facilities also go a long way in preventing disease outbreaks.
The RO Plant and the Sanitation Facilities were inaugurated by Mr. Norbert König, VP Asia Pacific on 01 July 2019.
