The NTM100 Threadmill from Niagara Cutter features helical flutes for internal and external threading.Thread milling offers many advantages for easy machining of difficult materials. For instance, one thread mill produces varying thread diameters of the same pitch, as well as one tool for left and right hand threads. This increases quality in which milled threads can be cut to full depth with excellent form, finish, and dimensional accuracy all while producing small controllable chips.Providing the use of thread mills, smaller machines can produce larger threads due to less spindle torque requirements. Pitch diameter can be controlled by CNC offset and NPT holes do not require taper reaming. Many of these features help to lessen the cutting pressure for thin walled workpieces and eliminate the safety issues and downtime associated with tap breakage.
