For insert milling cutter bodies, there is no full ISO designation system as for turning toolholders. Seco developed a unique system that is built using the same principles as the ISO system for turning toolholders.
The system is designed so that each important feature and dimension of the milling cutter body is shown using a code system. This becomes the name of the cutter body.
This system has several advantages:
It's important to remember that this designation system is not a system that standardizes the quality of the cutter body.
