In this fast-changing world with changing customers’ requirements and the need of fast adaption, it’s crucial that we keep up with the latest developments and opportunities to ensure we can fulfil our customers’ requirements. Making sure we can serve our customers with high quality products, accurate & fast deliveries, against the right price is our mission. On top of that we want to do this with the lowest impact on the environment.When you walk into a Seco production unit somewhere in the world, you will see a mix of high-end solutions, dedicated machines or technologies which already have proven their value. During the third industrial revolution, computers where introduced and information became broadly available with the introduction of the Internet.
Now, we are in the middle of adapting to the fourth industrial revolution. We will implement innovative digital solutions, make use of artificial intelligence, connect machines, equipment and systems, and create a flexible highly automated production environment.
In our Lottum production unit, the journey we took is quite clear for employees and visitors. In the past 10 years the production environment changed from very labor-intensive manufacturing and processes towards a way of working with a higher degree of automation. Innovative solutions such as automated product loading systems in machines, in machine measuring and automatic processing production data to create drawings and programs, changed our way of working. All of this, while working on reducing our environmental impact and creating an environment with high employee satisfaction.
With these new technologies and ways of working, we have strengthened our competitive edge and have become more productive. In addition, we have increased the quality of the products and created a great place to work.
Going forward, we will continue this journey with an increased speed in driving innovation and change. We will leverage from a collaborative environment where we can use the strength of every individual in the organization to contribute and build the future. Continues improvement will be part of our DNA.

To be able to do so, a long-term strategy plan is developed describing the initiatives that we will implement within our production unit ensuring a significant performance uplift in the years to come.
The defined initiatives are in either one of the six focus areas:
- Digital
- Lean
- Production Technology
- Competence Development
- Mindset & Behaviour
- Sustainability
The first three topics (digital, lean and production technology) are focus area’s targeting measurable results directly impacting the performance of our production unit.
The other three areas (competence development, mindset & behaviour and sustainability) can be seen as enablers which are pre-requisites to become successful.
The combination of these activities in the different focus area’s will make Seco’s production unit more successful.
Driving these initiatives will help Seco Tools become and stay the most advanced production unit when it comes to performance and way of working, supporting our customer at the best.
